Princess Diana: 20th anniversary of her death

«Fifteen iconic images taken in 1997 by Mario Testino of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, will be on display this summer at Althorp - family home of the Spencers since 1508, and the final resting place of the princess. The photographs Testino initially shot for Vanity Fair turned out to be the last official portraits taken of the Princess before her untimely death the same year. Twenty years later, these images will be on display in their entirety in the exhibition rooms located within Althorp’s glorious, Grade I-listed, Stables. Previously shown at Kensington Palace in 2005, the original photographs now form part of the permanent exhibition at MATE - Museo Mario Testino - in Lima, Peru where a room is dedicated to a selection of images from the collection. The exhibition at Althorp this year will be the first time in over twelve years that the entire collection will be on display. “It’s a real privilege to have been given the opportunity to photograph someone like Princess Diana, and to have the images become symbolic of her kindness and beauty. Nemo, le Premier-Chien de France!

«L'Elysée compte lundi [28/8] un nouvel occupant. Nemo, un labrador croisé griffon noir, a été aperçu lundi par les journalistes au palais de l'Elysée, prenant sa place dans la lignée des chiens présidentiels. Âgé d'à peine deux ans, il a été adopté dimanche [27/8] par Emmanuel et Brigitte Macron auprès de la Société Protectrice des Animaux (SPA), a-t-on précisé à l'Elysée.» (Le Figaro)

MTV Video Music Awards 2017

Resumindo & Baralhando: o KENDRICK LAMAR ganhou a maioria dos prémios (6 em 8 nomeações), e o ED SHEERAN ganhou o prémio "Artist of the Year" e a PINK ganhou o prémio "Michael Jackson Video Vanguard".

Pela primeira vez, os MTV Video Music Awards atribuiram o prémio "Best Fight Against the System" (Melhor luta Contra o Sistema) que foi apresentado pela mãe de Heather Hayer, que faleceu vitima de um ataque de um simpatizante neo-nazi em Charlotsville (Virginia, E.U.A). E, "sign o' the times", os MTV Video Music Awards eliminaram as separações entre as categorias para homens e para mulheres e rebaptizaram a estatueta: era "Homem na Lua", agora é "Pessoa na Lua".

JERRY LEWIS: 1926/2017

O multifacetado artista [actor, cantor, realizador e produtor] norte-americano JERRY (Jerome Joseph Levitch) LEWIS faleceu ontem, com 91 anos, na sua casa em Las Vegas, Nevada, E.U.A., de causas naturais. 

Provavelmente o maior comediante norte-americano do século 20, JERRY LEWIS era filho de pais judeus de origem russa, artistas de variedades, e foi na companhia dos pais que teve as primeiras experiências de representação. 

Na década de 50 do século 20 fez uma famosa dupla com o também actor e cantor DEAN MARTIN. Depois da separação (pouco pacifica), JERRY LEWIS continuou a carreira, dividida entre o cinema e a televisão. 

JERRY LEWIS era presidente da Associação Distrofia Muscular (Muscular Dystrophy Association - MDA) e foi pioneiro nas "telethons", as maratonas televisivas de angariação de fundos, da qual foi  apresentador e produtor, entre 1966 e 2010, da "The Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon".

On the Spring of 1953, Alfred Eisenstaedt paid Marilyn Monroe a visit in her Beverly Hills home to do a portrait shoot for a LIFE Magazine assignment. “Eisie,” as he was known by his friends and colleagues, photographed the Hollywood star in her patio. It was certainly not a glamor-filled photoshoot yet the intimately casual portraits Eisenstaedt took — both in color and black and white — became some of his best known work, as well as Monroe’s most sought after photographs to this day. Uma pequena nota biográfica: Sam Shepard Rogers III, conhecido com SAM SHEPARD, nasceu no Estado de Illinois e faleceu, no fim-de-seman, no Estado de Kentucky, na sequência de complicações da Esclerose Lateral Amiotrófica; actor, realizador, argumentista e dramaturgo; Pulitzer Prize for Drama, em 1979, com a obra "Buried Child"; PEN/Laura Pels International Foundation for Theater Awards, em 2009, "grand master american dramatist"; considerado pela 'New York Magazine' (e por mim!) como um dos maiores dramaturgos de sua geração.
